[INSIDE INOX]

Gaétan, digital experience specialist at Inox Communication, talks to us about the key elements to take into account in order to run a successful project in this field.

“The success of a web project often comes down to defining the objectives. Before embarking on the design and production, I discuss with my customer the reasons that led him to meet us.
Together, we can then compare his expectations with those of his own customers, and imagine useful functionalities. In this way, we bring together all the elements needed to build an intuitive, effective site in a visual universe consistent with the brand. These elements contribute to creating a good user experience.

Adopting this approach and passing it on to our customers is an exciting and necessary challenge. Some of our customers are natural listeners, while others are more focused on their own business. The advice we can give them is: “Put yourself in your users' shoes, they don't know your product in the same way you do.”

« The success of a web project often depends on the definition of its objectives. »

Secondly, once the project outline has been defined, you need to avoid the trap of copying a competitor's recipe, which is often different from the one that will work for your project.

Another risk is not being in phase with available resources. Let me explain: imagine an e-shop with complex functionalities, when the team needed to run it afterwards is small. This is likely to generate frustration on both sides.

When defining the scope of a project, it's important to think in terms of the long term. There's often a tendency to see a beginning and an end: once the site has been delivered, the project is finished. In reality, the project begins when the site goes live. We develop interesting and constructive relationships with our customers over the long term, those whose web platforms evolve over time. An effective site is a living site!

Agency projects that include branding are very stimulating for web design, because we're involved with our customer from the very beginning. In this case, both the customer's knowledge of the business and our external viewpoint as an agency are involved. It's in this type of global mandate that the agency's added value is strongest. Of course, we also intervene at very specific stages on other mandates, but it's exciting to be involved in a project right from the start!
